A first date to remember

Their first meeting took place in Anja’s hometown, a place that was new to both of them. Anja was so anxious she lost track of where they were headed, stumbled over her words, and even had a comical struggle with her salad at dinner - all while Christian looked on with a warm smile. After a walk, they settled onto a bench in the park and picked up the same lively, thoughtful conversation they had already enjoyed on the phone. Then Christian took her hand and said, “I would have liked to hold your hand much sooner, but I didn’t want to add to the confusion.”

Growing closer, one step at a time

Just three days later, they saw each other again. After that, they made time for one another roughly every two weeks, meeting in towns and hotels somewhere between their homes. With every visit, their connection became more natural, more intense, and more meaningful.

Each had walked a path that taught them important lessons, and in one another they found qualities they deeply appreciated.
